The city is full of history, and was the setting of the pivotal Battle of Westport in the American Civil War, also known as the “Gettysburg of the West”. Kansas City, Missouri is one of the largest cities in the US and was incorporated in 1850. Interestingly enough, the city does extend into the state of Kansas, and that inner suburb is known as Kansas City, Kansas.
